Our Programs

At SHE Innovates Employment Solutions, our peer-centred services empower individuals throughout their professional journeys. Through peer-led initiatives like mentorship programs and workshops, we foster leadership skills, systemic development, and workplace mental health advocacy. Our inclusive spaces facilitate shared experiences, insights, and growth support. By bridging barriers to employment and providing tailored support, we create pathways to success for all community members. At SHE Innovates, we believe in the power of peer mentorship to drive meaningful change and foster an equitable, inclusive workforce while working to elevate individuals onto their career paths.

Transitional Career Development

Leaning on Community Collaboration, our Transitional Career Development program is meticulously designed to empower marginalized self-identified women, Two-Spirit and Gender Diverse individuals, addressing diverse needs and facilitating low-barrier, sustainable employment. Guided by specialized frameworks, including Women in the Workplace, Pride at Work, and PWUD & Peer Support Guidelines, our program offers holistic wrap-around support while developing essential skills for formal employment.

What Sets Us Apart

Tailored Approach: Our program caters to individuals facing various adversities such as poverty, domestic violence, and street involvement. We provide comprehensive support tailored to their specific challenges, ensuring inclusivity and effectiveness.

Collaboration with Educational Institutions: Partnering with universities, trade schools, and colleges, we offer sponsored certification in high-demand careers, enhancing participants' employability and credentials.

Paid Internships with Mentorship: Participants engage in paid internships lasting 3-6 months, gaining valuable skills and receiving mentorship and leadership training to facilitate their transition into formal work settings.

Internal Peer Mentorship and Social Supports: Integral to our program, peer mentorship and support networks foster skills development and build participant confidence. These networks reduce the likelihood of regression into harmful environments, preparing participants for sustainable employment and financial independence. We have an in-house social worker to support us with resource navigation and applying for subsidized basic needs programs. We have peer mentors to advocate and navigate barriers and challenges that our participants face while working towards their education and other goals for career advancement.

Subsidized Employment and Continued Support: Graduates transition into subsidized employment with businesses for three months, receiving ongoing peer support and mentorship through SHE Innovates Employment Solutions. Our goal is to help our participants secure full-time or part-time positions, ensuring financial independence and career advancement.

Diverse Programming Channels: Our programming is conducted through partnerships with educational institutions, internal employment internships, social enterprises, and local business partnerships. This multi-faceted approach allows us to reach individuals from diverse backgrounds and provide tailored support.
